Selecting Granite or Marble For Your Ottawa Fireplace

But which is better, marble or granite?

Both are great, each with their pros and cons.  Granite is striking, functional and extremely durable making it an ideal choice for an Ottawa fireplace. It looks distinctively different and ultimately comes down to preference as granite may not satisfy a marble-lover.

Marble is softer, which really does not matter when selecting a fireplace surround.  It will give a distinctively brighter look that is bright and brilliant. It does tend to stain and scratch more, but if you are careful, there is no reason to steer away from marble for your Ottawa fireplace.
